architecture for physical therapy

In a studio lead by professor David Kratzer in collaboration with Dr. Stephanie Muth and Dr. Louis Hunter, Moving Architecture is an experiment in simple mechanics and physical therapy research, the two combine to create a space suitable for exercise no matter the differences in occupancy. Architecture for Physical Therapy is a unification of the mechanics of architecture and exercise; where the structure itself allows the user to push and pull on its roofs and walls to exercise and gain strength in core areas of the human body. As the body moves in its range of motion so does the structure. It is essentially one giant exercise machine that is designed specifically for physical therapists and their patients
