TUMBLE

A stone is a body, like any skeleton it feels the weight of the earth and moves, balanced with gravity’s pull. The body in dance is dictated by these factors, and is in fact, born from them Each material has its properties and those properties are what makes its dance its own. A simple stone, as it tumbles and rolls, is rolling in its own fashion and holds itself up by its own merit, separate from how another stone may. The same can be said for any human, we all dance in our own distinct way. It is this phenomenon of distinction in all objects this building is dedicated to. The structures ‘dance with each other by balancing, holding, intersecting and sharing each other’s space. The contrast in material is based upon the idea of two essential aspects of Architecture, structure and form. In this building however the form is primarily being shown in the traditionally structural material, and the structure is being represented in traditional non structural material.
